I love Bella's ASOV series

What can I say? I love Bella's ASOV series. I really did not think I would like this book. Boy was I wrong. It's about a girl named Violet. She lives in Matrus, the land ruled by women. Here, she is a murderer. But she is given an opportunity that she can not refuse. A chance to be free from prison and to possibly see her brother again. The catch is, she has to go to Patrus, the land ruled by men. The land where women are less than even pets. She needs to go under cover to help retrieve a silver egg that was stolen from Matrus. To do this, she must pretend to marry Lee, a Matrus born man under cover in Patrus. While Violet is dressed as a man,so she can go around tow to get info on where the egg is, Violet runs into Viggo, the one of the wardens in Patrus.He figures out who she is. instead of turning her in, he returns her to Lee. Knowing Viggo needs money, Lee makes an offer to Viggo that he can not refuse. Take Violet with him everywhere he goes, in exchange for what he would make as a warden. While spending time with Viggo, Violet starts having feelings for him that she has never felt before. When Violet gets there, she must decide if this is all worth it. Can she really help recover the stolen egg while making sure she doesn't let her heart get stolen in the process by Viggo.

Adventure Mystery Gender Division and Romance

Amazing adventure of deceit, mystery, gender division and sparks of romance. Bella Forrest has outdone herself in this amazing novel full of twists and turns, lies and surprising loyalties. This is her first "non shade" novel I've read. As a loyal ShadeAddict (if you haven't read the Shade series... What are you waiting for? Start them right after reading this book) I feel almost guilty for saying Gender Games far surpasses anything I've read from Bella Forrest to date. I've already preordered The Gender Secret (the second book in this series) and can't wait for it's release in November to find out what happened to Violet's brother, cross my fingers for another steamy reunion with Viggo, and perhaps find out how Ms Dale knew exactly what to train Violet for....

Loved this book!

I gave this book a 5 star rating because it absolutely drew me in from the beginning. I loved the main character, Violet. She was a super tough girl who had been dealt a pretty crappy hand. And the development of the society she lived in was amazing. Unlike anything I've read before. I will admit I am a huge Shade fan so I knew this book was going to be good and it did not disappoint. My hope for the second book is to finally give Violet some good in her life. And by good, I hope it's all Viggo. I love me some Viggo! Great job Bella! I will be impatiently awaiting the next book!

Great tecniques for your double chin

I have never known what to do with my sagging neckline but this book gives me some good information on how to tighten your skin and make it more elastic and it gives you some great neck exercises to do that I have never thought of before. I can use these techniques anytime even when I sit and watch TV which is great. I also found that there was some really good sensible advice on how to gain control of your appetite and what to drink to get beautiful clear skin. I like this book it is handy to refer to for ideas and information on how to look well after your self.

Short and Long Term Advice

As a personal trainer who doesn't exactly believe in "spot reduction" I thought it would be interesting to read into removing a double chin. Well this book doesn't just concentrate on removing the double chin but also on firming up the skin on the chin and the neck too, which is often just as big a problem as we age and/or put on weight.

What I really liked about this book is that it offers both short and long term advice in reducing or completely removing your double chin. There are a range of techniques suit anybody with a range of budgets also. If you are very serious about improving that area then I was pleased to know there were a number of things to do that did not involve surgery. I especially liked the section on exercises coming from a personal training point of view.

This is a nice quick read and by the end you'll have all the options at your disposal.

The story of Mary Stuart has been told in many contexts (most recently in Elizabeth and Mary), but nowhere has she been defended more rigorously than in this new study. Guy, a fellow at Cambridge University and BBC consultant, describes Mary's formative years in France, but the heart of the book is her short reign in Scotland. Negotiations with Elizabeth Tudor over the succession in England and the shadow of Mary's final fate dominate the narrative, but while Guy effectively establishes that Elizabeth's chief minister William Cecil was Mary's true English enemy, what is most shocking is how suppliant he shows Mary to have been to Elizabeth. The most dramatic moments, however, are supplied by the Scottish nobles, who shifted alliances around her and colluded in kidnappings and assassinations. Though not the first to challenge Mary's femme fatale image, Guy does not even deign to discuss the accusation that she was romantically involved with her Italian secretary Rizzio and convincingly absolves her of involvement in the death of her second husband. He re-examines her actions and choices and offers a lively textual analysis of letters usually used as evidence against her. Yet he does not conclusively argue that she ruled from the head, and, in the end, the question of whether Mary Stuart ruled from her head or her heart appears beside the point. The easiest and quickest way to judge Mary Stuart has always been to compare her to her cousin and fellow queen-sovereign Elizabeth Tudor. A fresh look at Mary Queen of Scots life and loves and plots

In this lively biography John Guy has produced a new, thoughtful, and very well researched, portrait of the much maligned Mary, Queen of Scots. He has dug up records that have not been used by historians in over 100 years and for the first time fully reviewed all the original documents relating to the death of her husband Darnley and come up with some very interesting results.

Mary comes across as an intelligent, well educated, politically astute woman when she finally took her place on the throne of Scotland. It's often easy to overlook the fact that for close to 5 years she successfully ruled Scotland and its plotting Lords in her own name before the dramatic events which shaped her eventual fate took place. John Guy successfully puts these years of successful rule in their place and presents a version of the death of her husband Darnley that makes a great deal of sense given the evidence of this event that is still preserved in English archives.

Mary's later captive years are dealt with in less detail, but the plots that eventually bought about her death are presented in with insight and detail. This biography has a lot of new information on Mary, and if you are interested in this complex and tragic historical figure then this book is a must, and it will make you re-think some of the assumptions in earlier biographies.

Interestingly found Reign pretty close to story until Francis became ill then veers. Although m y husband says the clothing etc is not accurate!

Part II looks at modes of discourse, showing for example how discourse relations create implicatures and how Indirect Discourse differs from Free Indirect Discourse. The studies conclude that the relations between sentences that make a discourse coherent are already encoded in sentence grammar and that, once established, these relations influence the meaning of individual sentences.

Jacqueline Gueron is Emeritus Professor at the Universite Paris 3. She holds a Ph.D in French Literature from the University of Pennsylvania and a Doctorat d'Etat from the Universite Paris 7. She has co-edited a number of works on subjects dealing with syntax and construal, most recently on tense, modality, and Creole syntax. She is co-author, with Liliane Haegeman, of English Grammar: A Generative Perspective (Wiley-Blackwell 1999), and, with Jacqueline Lecarme, of Time and Modality (Springer, 2008). Her publications are devoted to sentence grammar - extraposition, focus, anaphora, inalienable possession, tense, aspect, and modality - as well as to language and literature, including literary criticism, metrical theory and Free Indirect Discourse.
