In 18 months they have expanded from 76 community groups to over 250 community groups, and more than 100% participation.

Jim Cowart is the founding pastor of Harvest Church, a United Methodist congregation near Macon, GA. Harvest launched in 2001, and has an average attendance of 3,000 each weekend.� The church grows primarily through professions of faith from new Christians. The innovative “community group” strategy is producing more than 350 small groups meeting in homes and workplaces.

About the Author
Donald Bogle is one of the foremost authorities on African Americans in film and the arts. He is the author of the classic Toms, Coons, Mulattoes, Mammies, and Bucks: An Interpretive History of Blacks in American Films (Continuum, 2001). His best-selling Bright Boulevards, Bold Dreams: The Story of Black Hollywood received the Hurston/Wright Finalist Legacy Award in Non-fiction. His other books include the critically acclaimed Dorothy Dandridge: A Biography; Blacks in American Films and Television: An Illustrated Encyclopedia; and Primetime Blues: African Americans on Network Television. He has appeared on such television programs as Entertainment Tonight; Today; Good Morning, America; and Nightline; and has served as a commentator on such documentaries as Spike Lee's Jim Brown: All-American, American Movie Classics' Small Steps . . . Big Strides, and TV Land's three-part series on African Americans on television. He also co-hosted Turner Classic Movies' award-winning series Race and Hollywood. The first edition of his volume Brown Sugar covered eighty years of America's black female superstars and was turned into a highly successful four-part PBS documentary series by Mr. Bogle.

A little gem!

This book is a little gem. I read it cover to cover in one sitting and made notes along the way. Inspired by Machel Shull's years of experience as a face model and her journey to discover (and embrace) the undeniable connection between inner and outer beauty, it's a must-read for women of all ages. Buy a copy for yourself and one for your best friend, too; it's a wonderful gift. Highly recommended.

A Beauty Bible for Everywoman

Middle Age Beauty is a valuable beauty bible for women of all ages. Holistic in nature, it is concerned with the care of body, mind and soul, as the author firmly places the emphasis on the cultivation of inner beauty before all else. Written in an engaging conversational tone, Machel Schull is like a big sister whispering her cherished beauty secrets, while offering down to earth advice in the most honest and direct manner.
Early in the book, Ms. Schull presents a winning argument for the reasons a woman should never lie about her age, backed up by an interview with Dr. Tess Hightower. The aging process and women's attitude to it, is naturally the central focus of the book.
One of my favorite quotes is from Chapter 9, which deals with positive thinking: "When you struggle against reality you cause inner turmoil to your soul".
This phrase resonates with me as I have personally learned that acceptance is the first step to addressing any issues that arise in our lives.
Meditation, the benefits and how to do it are all explained in very simple terms. An interview with Zen Master Michiko Rolek provides further encouragement and helps demystify `mindful breathing'.
There is also a lot of fun in this book, as the author throws cold water on the hype fed to women by society and the beauty industry.
This is a lovely girly book that is also gutsy and full of cheer. In fact I would recommend it to anyone in need of a good boost to their self esteem. Definitely a winner!

I am both a nerd and artist, needing all the beauty help I can get. Machel's lovely book was heaven sent. The 3 things that stand out for me; 1) Girl friend therapy, (have more fun) 2) working up to taking once a year swimsuit pic 3) awesome health tips like get B shots and drink apple cider, and so much more.

Psychic Perception is a learning experience

I am an avid reader of Joseph Murphy. His book "Psychic Perception: The Magic of Extrasensory power" is amazing. His ideas that psychic power comes directly from God, because the the God Mind contains all memories from the beginning of man to the present,is something I agree with. His ideas on past lives and reincarnation are logical. If you want to learn how to get in touch with your psychis abilities, which Joseph Murphy states everyone has, this book will help you. Understand though, this is not a straight foward step by step guide. He shows you through examples of people who go through different situations and what they do. If you like Joseph Murphy's books, you will enjoy this one. If you have never read Joseph Murphy's books, this book may give you a different way of looking how God works in you life. I would suggest you read his book "Power of Your Subconscious Mind" first to give you Murphy's core beliefs. His writings have totally change the way I look at God.

Another Great Book By A Master Teacher

Dr. Murphy often touched on psychic phenomena in previous books of his that I've read, which is now about a half-dozen. So it gave me great pleasure to see him address an entire book to the subject. Once again, he writes in his easy to read, easily understandable style. This is a book to be savored again and again, particularly for mind-power fans with a spiritual inclination. Read and learn.

This book is a powerful guide to tapping into the real power that moves us. Dr. Joe was a prolific leader and teacher in disciplining the mind, through prayer and thoughts that can reshape your life into its divine order. The spiritual laws are universal.
